The name Al Shera’a comes from the Arabic word for “sail”, symbolising movement, progress and openness. As a sail moves a ship forward, the building reflects DEWA’s efforts in innovation and sustainability.
The design of Al Shera’a’s indoor spaces was inspired by the traditional houses of the UAE, blending heritage with innovation.
Al Shera’a features more than 26,000 square metres of photovoltaic panels and 1,000 square metres of integrated solar panels.
